A Mother’s Love, A Disciple’s Heart: Cheyenne’s Legacy
When deciding on where to donate, it didn’t take long to arrive in the children’s ministry at Colonial Church. Chey loved kids more than anything else! Chey began serving in the children’s ministry as a teen at Journey Church. A few years later she moved on to another start up church, Champion’s Way, where she served as the Lead of the children’s ministry. Both of these churches were new starts that did not have a building yet, so they held services in area middle schools. This meant that every Sunday all the equipment and supplies it takes to create an infant/childcare area would need to be brought out of storage, set up creatively, and put away after every service. This was all being done on a very limited budget. Chey did all of this with that big smile on her face, and an expectant heart. She believed that all children should have the opportunity to meet and come to know Jesus while also having fun. Chey always made sure their needs were met and would be especially excited planning Christmas and Easter events. Chey finally made the move to Colonial Church which was just starting up as well. Of course, she signed up to serve in the children’s ministry! She was so happy to have found another church to serve in that she described as welcoming, warm, and family friendly. Through all these years, Chey would become attached to the many kids she would get to work with. The one thing that stood out is she always seemed to be most drawn to the kids that were lacking what she considered a “normal lifestyle”. A lifestyle with parents present and involved, dependable transportation, an unlimited supply of food, along with Christmas, Easter, and Birthday celebrations that are fun filled and family oriented. As you know, buildings, furnishings, supplies, and special events require funding. It is with joyful hearts and deep gratitude for the life of Cheyenne, that we would like to honor her as she gave everything, including her life, for the love of children. This fund is a tribute to her passion for people, her devotion to Christ, her love for others, and the eternal bond she shares with the child she gave her life for. Your contribution will help her legacy continue by investing in children and blessing the generations beyond them.
Please consider sharing this initiative with others, joining us in remembering our beautiful Chey, and being the hands and feet of Jesus by pouring into the Children’s Ministry at Colonial Church through the Make Room Fund. God Bless You!
